Russell Taylor Russell Taylor is best known at the co-creator, along with Charles Peattie, of the Alex cartoon strip in the Daily Telegraph, which features the daily adventures of a snobbish and materialistic banker called Alex Masterley. Alex has appeared in newspapers in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Sweden and South Africa. In 2007 a stage adaptation of Alex, starring Robert Bathurst as the titular character, was produced at the Arts Theatre in the West End and later went on a world tour. In 2010 Alex hosted his own drive time show on Classic FM. Russell is also a journalist and author, who has written humorous books on subjects ranging from Russia to marathon running. In 2002 he was appointed MBE for services to the newspaper industry. Russell writes film and TV music (in collaboration with Steve Cooke). Their programmes have won seven Emmies, seven BAFTAs, an Amnesty International Award and a Prix Italia. |
